The AMX Series combines advanced motor control with a compact and robust design for general-purpose industrial applications. It supports V/F control and field-oriented control for precise speed regulation, fast torque response and improved low-frequency performance.
The drive is designed for operation at ambient temperatures up to 50°C without derating and uses conformal-coated boards for protection in harsh environmental conditions.
AMX is a versatile general-purpose drive for both variable-torque and constant-torque applications.

AMX is designed for reliable operation in challenging industrial environments. It supports 50°C ambient operation without derating and uses conformal-coated boards with 3C3 category protection. The environmental specification covers -10°C to 50°C ambient operation, with derating above 50°C up to 55°C.
The drive provides 200% starting torque for demanding motor-starting conditions. Overload capability is 120% for 60 seconds in normal duty, 150% for 60 seconds / 180% for 2 seconds / 200% for 0.5 seconds in heavy duty.
AMX supports V/F control and field-oriented control. It is applicable to asynchronous motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors. Closed-loop vector control provides a speed control range of 1:1500 and open-loop vector control provides 1:200.
The AMX graphical control panel provides high-resolution display, multi-row drive status, real-time motor speed, current, voltage and frequency, graphical trends and waveform visualization. Detailed fault descriptions and alarms support troubleshooting and maintenance.
Built-in functions include load monitoring, timers, counters, virtual I/Os and low-voltage sleep. These functions provide flexible control and monitoring without necessarily requiring additional external hardware.
An integrated energy-saving function can automatically pause the motor when operation is not required. Specialized application macros are available for functions such as brake control and multi-pump systems.
AMX provides an in-built brake chopper up to 45 kW. Above 45 kW, a brake chopper is available as an option. The drive also supports integrated vector braking for controlled stopping.
Modbus RTU is standard. RS232 and RS485 serial communication options are available, with EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP and PROFINET listed as communication options. Standard control signals include 7 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 3 analog inputs, 2 analog outputs and 2 relay outputs.
AMX supports incremental, Sin-Cos and resolver encoder options. A PTC/PT100/PT1000 option board is available for motor temperature feedback.
EmoSoftCom PC software can be connected through the front control panel using a standard RS232 cable. It provides tools to record signals and save or load backup settings, supporting service and maintenance activities.
A range of options allows the AMX Series to be adapted to application-specific control, feedback and communication requirements.
An optional C3 category EMC/EMI filter is available for improved electromagnetic compatibility.
Optional I/O boards provide additional relay, analog and digital inputs/outputs. One option provides 5 additional relay outputs. Another provides 4 additional analog inputs, 2 additional analog outputs and 4 + 2 additional digital inputs.
Encoder boards are available for incremental encoders, Sin-Cos encoders and resolvers. Maximum one encoder board can be installed per AC drive.
A PTC/PT100/PT1000 board provides motor temperature feedback. It includes one isolated PTC input and three PT100/PT1000 inputs.
The graphical PPU provides an oscilloscope function for real-time visualization and waveform analysis.
Use real time clock option to have time stamped event log and work with calendar based logical operations.
Communication options include RS232, RS485, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP and PROFINET; Modbus RTU is standard.
